Titus 2
Mentoring for women · Midland & Odessa
A woman standing in soft window light

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

Seven and a half months of older women walking with younger ones — praying, teaching, telling the truth, and refusing to let anybody do it alone.

What it is

Titus 2 is not a Bible study. It is a mentoring program.

It's built the way it always was in families — the way women once sat together shelling peas, talking, teaching each other about marriage, about God's character, about how to be godly. But so many women don't have their mom in town, or their mom doesn't believe. So where are they supposed to go?

So this is what it is instead: up to fifteen women and four or five mentors in a group, doing life together for a school year — encouraging each other to grow in the Lord and to get biblical principles into the ordinary parts of a week. You can ask any mentor for advice or for prayer, about anything.

Where the name comes from

Grace is the one doing the teaching.

Titus 2:11–14

"For the grace of God has appeared… training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age."

Most people quote the four verses about older women teaching younger ones and stop there. But Paul keeps going, and the reason he gives is this: grace itself is what trains us. That's why Titus 2 isn't a list of rules. It's a room full of women learning to live what they already believe — and being made, in his words, a people for his own possession.

The three commitments

We ask for three things — and the mentors make them too.

I

To God

A commitment to God to grow closer to Him — to press in to what He wants of you, what His character is, who He actually is.

II

To yourself

A commitment to yourself to learn and practice spiritual truths as you become more like Christ. You may never set aside seven and a half months again.

III

To the other women

A commitment to the group to build relationships, be transparent, support the other women, and help them grow closer to Christ.

The Saturday retreat — Daughters of the King

Between the teaching nights there are bonus nights, a Christmas party, and one evening when the room prays a prophetic word over every woman in it.

Four things we build everything on

God’s Word has ultimate authority

In every area of your life. The enemy’s primary weapon is his assault on your mind, so we keep asking one question: what does God say about it?

You must accept who you are in Christ

Who He says you are, regardless of your feelings, your old beliefs, or the accusations of hurtful people in your life. Learn to say about yourself only what God says about you.

Seek intimacy with the Father

Your Heavenly Father is not like your earthly father. He has loved you with an everlasting love, adopted you fully into His family, and paid the price for every failure you have ever known.

Honesty and transparency

Satan uses whatever is hidden against us. When those things are brought into the light, he has no more power over us.

What we ask of each other
  • Relate to your group as your spiritual family.
  • Grow in your personal spiritual disciplines.
  • Make the thirteen classes and the Saturday retreat a priority.
  • Honor everyone’s time by being prompt.
  • Keep up with your homework.
  • Be transparent.
  • Keep everything shared in the group confidential.
  • Share your thoughts, and give others room to share theirs.
  • Be gentle and accepting of others.
  • Watch WhatsApp for announcements and prayer requests — nothing before 7 a.m. or after 9 p.m., unless it’s an emergency.
The second night

Everyone tells her story.

The mentors go first — the good, the bad, the ugly, the sad. Then everyone else, six minutes each: two minutes on what your life was like before you met the Lord, two on the biggest change Jesus brought about, two on what is going on now.

Everyone has a story. Don't worry that yours is the worst — it isn't. It only feels that way to you. And if someone loves you without ever knowing your story, you will never truly feel loved.

By the end of that night, a bond that normally takes years is simply there.

How the year ends

Daughters of the King

One day in Midland. Speakers, catered meals, canvases, tiaras — all of it on purpose. A lot of tears, and a lot of laughter, because of what got built.

You leave knowing you are a daughter of the King, that you are not powerless, and that He gave you a purpose before you were born.

Mark it before anything else. Everything the nine months has been doing in you tends to finish on that one Saturday.

In their own words

Hear it from the women who've been through it.

What they said afterward.

I felt like I was a splintered two-by-four — if you got close, you were going to get hurt. They really do make it a place that's safe.

Nicole Kenimer

Before Titus 2 I was challenged with my identity — a lot of condemnation and guilt. Now I know, and I believe Him when He tells me I've been His daughter all along.

Daisy Berlanga

There's something about having a go-to group that is just about Jesus. You know you are going to get support, you are going to get love and life and truth.

Rachel Rose Box

The comfort and the support that I got really changed my life. I'm able to accept God's word even when it doesn't look like it's going to be okay.

Danielle Chavez

From the founder

"We're going to learn to believe that what He says He will do, He will do — and that who He says He is, He really is. That's the magic of Titus."

Susan Vermillion Founder

Susan has led Titus 2 for years under the covering of a local church. This year it steps out on its own. The curriculum is hers, refined with Tom Vermillion, who also teaches the Passover night.

We're going to search for Him together.

We believe this is a kairos moment for you — an appointed time, orchestrated by God, that does not always come around again.

Join a group

Registration is open. There's a fee, and a scholarship whenever it's needed. Once everyone has shared her testimony in week two, the group closes for the year.

Mentor with us

Training is in August. You don't need answers — you need to have lived something and say so.

Give or host

Fund a scholarship, or open your living room for a season.
